Back to School Checklist
Start of school got ya' feeling overwhelmed? Here's a quick checklist of things to do to ensure each SFE Shark is ready for the school year! Click on each of the steps below for a direct link to get each item on your checklist completed.
- Pay SFE Activity Fee .
- Activity fee is paid or the School through Revtrak. It supports teacher classrooms and helps to pay bus/ field trip fees
- Pay Class Party Fee .
- Party fee is paid on the PTA website. It supports the class parties (in Dec. And Feb). And works to build up funds in the grade level account to support 5th grade traditions.
- Join the PTA
- Parents, Guardians, Students, Friends, Family, Teachers, & Community Members all can join. Only $10. Each membership supports amazing experiences for every student, every day.
- Complete the Humble ISD Volunteer Application.
- Must be done each year before you can volunteer on campus/ chaperone a field trip. Form is specific to SFE.
- Purchase Headphones
- Students need headphones for each day in class. Can purchase on Humble ISD website or provide plug in headphones for each student
- Order School Spirit Shirt
- This is the School Theme Shirt. Spirit days are on Fridays (wear Shadow Forest Elem clothes).
- Deadline: August 30
- Be on the lookout for the PTA Spirit Wear fundraiser that will be coming early September!)
- Order a Recorder (for grades 4-5)

What Is

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an organization that focuses on improving the experience of our students.
PTAs promote communication between home and school, organize enrichment activities and family events, and raise funds for school programs and supplies.

Who can/should join the PTA? |
All parents/guardians (working or stay at home), staff, grandparents, teachers and members of the community are welcome to join.
Joining the PTA (even just by paying the PTA dues) is supporting the school. Your children and community NEED you!

What benefits are there for joining? |
First and foremost - studies have shown that kids do better in school when they know there is a parent/guardian supporting them.

Membership Dues are only $10 per person. You can join on the SFE PTA website.

The PARTY FEE is paid to SFE PTA for the Friendship Party and Winter Party.
We ask that all families contribute whether they choose to join SFE PTA or not.
K- 4th Grade = $15 per student 5th Grade = $40 per student
Want to make a BIGGER Impact? New this year! Families may choose choose to sponsor an additional party fee(s). These contributions help enhance classroom celebrations and strengthen class party funds.

You must create an account and add your student to your account before paying your party fee. If you are unable to add a student, please follow these directions.

Please Note: the "Class Party Fee" and the "Activity Fee" are DIFFERENT.
They are paid on DIFFERENT sites so that the money is budgeted correctly.

The ACTIVITY FEE is paid to SFE (through RevTrak) and is used by classroom teachers to purchase materials and supplies that are used for lessons and activities for instruction.
K- 5th Grade = $20 per student

Being a volunteer is a great way to get involved in your child’s school, meet other parents/guardians, and have fun!
**You do not have to be a PTA member to be a volunteer.**

Submit your interest in volunteering by completing the Steps to Volunteering.
**Step 1: Complete Humble ISD Application and Background check MUST be completed prior to volunteering at Shadow Forest in any capacity. **

Parents, grandparents, faculty, students, and community members are all welcome to join SFE PTA!
Your PTA membership is valid from the day you register and pay your dues through July 31 each year.
SFE PTA dues are $10.00 per member.
Your dues and funds help SFE PTA support SFE in many ways. For a list of just some of the programs and events your dues pay for, visit the Programs & Events tab of this site.
Learn MoreBeing a volunteer is a great way to get involved in your child’s school, meet other parents, and have fun. You do not have to be a PTA member to be a volunteer.
Humble ISD requires all volunteers to complete an application and background check. Visit humbleisd.net/volunteer to complete that step. This needs to be done each school year.
Fill out the Volunteer Sign Up and select the opportunities that appeal to you. Additional opportunities may come up throughout the year as well.
