What is PTA?
PTA is a grassroots organization made up of parents, teachers and othersin the community, who have a special interest in children, families and schools.
Who can join?
Parents, teachers, grandparents, and any other adults who are interested in making a difference in their children’s education.
Why should I become a member?
Your children and community NEED you! Studies have shown that membership in PTA provides your child and other children around you with a greater chance of achieving success in school. As a PTA member you are more likely to be an informed, involved parent
What are my obligations?
Becoming a member in no way obligates you to attend any meetings or volunteer. Your dues alone can make a big difference in the education of your children!
Where do my dues go?
Our membership dues are only $10 per adult. The $10 per adult dues includes a national portion of $3.25 and a state portion of $2.75. Shadow Forest PTA retains the remaining $4.00 to fund the purchase of additional reading materials, technology equipment, special projects and many other enriching programs.
How will I know what SFE PTA is doing?

Parents, grandparents, faculty, students, and community members are all welcome to join SFE PTA!
Your PTA membership is valid from the day you register and pay your dues through July 31 each year.
SFE PTA dues are $10.00 per member.
Your dues and funds help SFE PTA support SFE in many ways. For a list of just some of the programs and events your dues pay for, visit the Programs & Events tab of this site.

Our great volunteers at SFE help make our school strong! Being a volunteer is a great way to get involved in your child’s school, meet other parents, and have fun. You do not have to be a PTA member to be a volunteer.
Look over the list to find an opportunity that appeals to you. There are other opportunities that come up throughout the year as well. The general time commitment for each opportunity is noted in parentheses.
Humble ISD requires all volunteers to complete an application and background check. Visit humbleisd.net/volunteer to complete that step. This needs to be done each school year.
