What is PTA?

PTA is a grassroots organization made up of parents, teachers and othersin the community, who have a special interest in children, families and schools.

Who can join?

Parents, teachers, grandparents, and any other adults who are interested in making a difference in their children’s education.

Why should I become a member?

Your children and community NEED you! Studies have shown that membership in PTA provides your child and other children around you with a greater chance of achieving success in school. As a PTA member you are more likely to be an informed, involved parent

What are my obligations? 

Becoming a member in no way obligates you to attend any meetings or volunteer. Your dues alone can make a big difference in the education of your children!

Where do my dues go?

Our membership dues are only $8.50 per adult; however, we encourage both parents to become members of the PTA for annual dues of only $17.00. The $8.50 per adult dues includes a national portion of $2.25 and a state portion of $2.25. Shadow Forest PTA retains the remaining $4.00 to fund the purchase of additional reading materials, technology equipment, special projects and many other enriching programs.
