Virtual Teacher Appreciation Week: May 4-8
We encourage you to choose the days you wish to participate in (you don't have to do them all!).
Monday, 5/4: Thank your teacher!
Send a picture of a card or thank you note from your child to his/her teacher however you normally upload completed work. You can also post on Twitter; be sure to tag #HumbleISD_SFE and #ptasfe!
Tuesday, 5/5: Special "thank you" video from our kids to the whole SFE staff!
Be sure to upload your short video or picture of your kids thanking our awesome teachers and staff at https://share.vidday.
Wednesday, 5/6: Treat a teacher!
Their favorite things can be found on the PTA website at sfepta.com/teacher_wish_lists.
Thursday, 5/7: Thank a staff member!
Let's recognize all of the other awesome people who support our kids. Email them a thank-you card (you can find staff emails here: https://www.humbleisd.net/Domain/7209) and tag #HumbleISD_SFE and #ptasfe on Twitter.
Friday, 5/8: A surprise for our staff! Be sure to check out Facebook and Twitter to join in the fun.
SFE PTA will also be giving each teacher and staff member a $15 e-gift card of their choice (Papa Johns, Tiffs Treats, or Amazon). Thank you, teachers and staff, for everything you do for our sharks!
Sharkfest Updates:
All refunds have been processed. If you have not yet received a refund or your original check for your purchase in the mail, please contact Katie Smith (president, kacsmith@gmail.com) or Jessica Hobbs (treasurer, gahobbs@yahoo.com) ASAP.

While our by-laws call for elections during the month of April, TX PTA does not permit elections to be held virtually. Elections for the board will be held as soon as we are able to safely meet in person. This is subject to change upon advisement of TX PTA.
Are you interested in serving in a leadership position with SFE PTA? There are many opportunities! While it can be intimidating to get started, the executive board is eager to assist you in serving. Our PTA and school benefit from a diverse leadership team and it is a great way to get to know SFE parents and staff (plus it's a lot of fun!). If you are currently in a leadership position, Katie Smith or your VP/Chair will be in touch about your plans for next year.
SFE PTA Executive Board Updates:
Mike Cox tendered his resignation at 2nd Vice President (Membership). Thank you for being willing to serve, Mike! At our April 22 Executive Board meeting, Katie Smith appointed Jami O'Leary to the position with board approval. Jami, welcome to the team!
Disbursement Updates:
If you received a reimbursement check from SFE PTA, we ask that you cash it as soon as you are able. Budget planning for next year is underway and with the circumstances this year, being able to finalize this year as early as possible would be very helpful to us.
The deadline for disbursement requests for class parties and other known expenses has passed. If you have not submitted for your disbursement and were planning to do so, please contact Katie Smith or your chairperson ASAP to discuss.
Lifetime Member Nominations:
A lifetime membership in SFE PTA is a special way to recognize an SFE PTA member who has gone above and beyond in service to SFE PTA. To nominate a member for Lifetime membership, please email Jami O'Leary, VP-Membership, at JGentry218@gmail.com.
Special Events:
Events recognizing our 5th graders and Seniors have been postponed until further notice. It is our intention to host an event for each group when it is safe to do so. Their hard work and milestone deserves commemoration! Senior scholarship recipients will be notified in mid-May.
Yearbooks:
Yearbooks will be delivered to SFE at the start of the 2020-2021 school year. Information regarding delivery will be made available then. You may still purchase a yearbook on the Lifetouch website using Yearbook ID 13200720. If you have pictures from an SFE event you would like to submit for inclusion in the yearbook, please email them to Aimee Bertrand at ShadowForestYB@gmail.com.
